As of 1 July 2018, Prominent and the Mondial Group will face the future together. Both of these Dutch companies specialise in the cultivation of tomatoes. They also have the same marketing and cooperation vision.
The Mondial Group consists of the Van der Wel, Zadelaers Boogaert/Van Niel, and Varekamp businesses. It has an acreage of 36 hectares. They responded to Prominent's request for cooperation. Prominent currently has 29 members with 382 ha. The combined area, thus, comes to 418 hectares.
Increase in scale
Both parties are convinced that this scale increase is important. It will help to serve clients optimally. "The sharing of knowledge, supply bundling, and innovation are a must. For this, cooperation is essential", reads an article on Prominent's website.
From Monday, 2 July, the Prominent DOOR sales team will take over sales. "The commercial team sees this as a positive development", states the article. "The Mondial brand will retain its position on the market."
The Mondial Group and Prominent's Boards and their members are very pleased with these steps. They are confident in this partnership and the future. The article goes on to say, "Ongoing agreements will, of course, be respected. Thereafter, where possible, they will be continued within Prominent."
