Spain: Biodegradable mulching film made of Mater-Bi for watermelons

On 28 June the Cajamar Cooperative Group organized a day of study at its Experimental Center located in Paiporta (Valencia).

During the day, dedicated to the use of biostimulants in agriculture, the various experimental tests currently being carried out at the Experimental Center were also presented, including one concerning the use of biodegradable mulching film made of Mater-Bi on watermelon crops.

The Mater-Bi biodegradable mulch film offers an agronomically and environmentally efficient alternative, because, at the end of the crop cycle, it does not need to be removed or disposed of, as it is biodegraded into the soil, reducing the production of waste, the mechanical recycling of which may be technically or economically unprofitable.

The Cajamar Cooperative Group is a Foundation dedicated to agro-food research and knowledge transfer with the aim of promoting the development of the agri-food sector and the growth of its socio-economic environment and of providing technical support to farmers and cooperatives in the sector.
