"China: "Thousand Year Fragrance lychees await export"

"The current lychee production season in Lingshan, Guangxi, began in early June. It is estimated to last for around one month and a half until mid- to late July. This year has been an excellent year for most fruits and almost all lychee production areas enjoyed a bumper harvest. This was particularly true for Hainan, Guangdong, and Guangxi. The increased production volume naturally decreased the price of lychees in comparison with previous years. Some product varieties have encountered marketing difficulties." This is according to Mr. Deng of Guangxi Lingshan County Lingchang Lychee Plantation (Lingshan County Lingchang Agricultural Industry Co., Ltd.)

"There are many lychee varieties on the market, but the most popular are Concubine's Smile, Flavor of Guilin, and Thousand Year Fragrance lychees. The last one is our famous Guangxi variety. Consumers rush the stores every year as soon as our Thousand Year Fragrance lychees enter the market. Our lychees have a unique flavor which makes them popular. Furthermore, our plantation history is very old and Lingshan is known as "the hometown of lychees". The Thousand Year Fragrance lychee has a deep red color, small pit, and rich fruit flesh that is sweet and fragrant. The product quality is first-class."

"Our Lingshan County Lingchang Lychee Plantation is located in Lingshan County. Our plantations cover around 67 hectares. We also cooperate with farmers in nearby areas whose plantations cover another 67 hectares. We manage many lychee varieties, such as the early-season March Red, the mid-season Concubine's Smile and Black Leaf, and the late-season Lingshan Fragrance, Flavor of Guilin, Glutinous Rice Cake, and Fragrant lychees. We mainly air-freighted our lychees this year and sold them in fruit stores in first tier cities such as Beijing and Shanghai. Next year, we hope to export our lychees overseas and give more consumers the opportunity to taste the unique flavor of Lingshan lychees."
