Supermarket introduces clever alternative for plastic fruit bags

The plastic bag has already disappeared from many supermarkets, but the transparent plastic bags in the fruit and vegetable departments continue to be used. A REWE market wants to change that - with a simple idea.

In the Rewe market in Wesseling, for two weeks now it has been possible to pack fruit and vegetables in boxes, provided for free. These boxes have been around for some time and were originally intended for plants. The owner of the store told Utopia.de that as a hater of plastic, he does not want to wait until the company removes the plastic bags. He wants to set a example. Customers were very enthusiastic about the initiative.
