Carlo and Marco Dürbeck will represent Dürbeck family

Anton Dürbeck Group: Fifth generation joins

"Carlo and Marco are already the fifth generation of Dürbecks feeling passionate about fruit and global trade. Together with our colleagues and long-term partners, we are looking forward to continue our successful business in the future”, says Mathias Dürbeck.

After completing his studies in Economics and Management at Mannheim and London, Carlo started his career as an investment banker at Citigroup in London. He will now gradually become involved in Dürbeck’s fruit trading and import businesses.

Marco is about to complete his Masters in Agribusiness in Santiago de Chile. Since 2016, he has already been working for the family company alongside his studies. Following his graduation, his integration within the family-owned fruit production entities in Chile and Ecuador will be imminent.

"Becoming part of the family firm has always been our dream. Now we are all looking forward to continuing the family success story in the world of international fruit trading,“ say Carlo and Marco.

Martin Dürbeck first set up his fruit business in Falkenau an der Eger in 1896. Anton Dürbeck, after whom the company was named, rebuilt the company after the Second World War in Frankfurt am Main. It was Karl Dürbeck, Carlo's and Marco’s grandfather, who turned the company into a renowned international fruit-trading firm. Together with Karl’s son Mathias, who is running the firm and its global subsidiaries today, Anton Dürbeck has also become a major banana importer of global importance.
