Forecast for Guangxi mango market season in 2018

The market is currently overwhelmed by all kinds of fruit. Guangxi is the foremost mango producing area in China. All kinds of mango varieties will enter the market in large volumes in mid- to late June. The mango season is estimated to start 7-12 days earlier than last year. The mango producing areas in Guangxi are distributed over Baise, Nanning, and Qinzhou, with a concentration of mango orchards in Youjiang, Tianyang, Tiandong, and Tianlin, all in Baise. Mango cultivation has more than three hundred years of history in Baise. The "Baise mango" obtained national recognition as a characteristic regional product. Many villages in the area are known as "the hometown of Chinese mango".

The Guangxi winter was dry and cold last year. There was no frost during the mango blossom season, neither was there harm from high temperatures. The temperature went up during March to May and there was abundant sunshine with little rain. These were excellent conditions for mango blossoms, growing fruit, and ripening fruit. It is estimated that Guangxi mango's will enter the market in large volumes in mid- to late June, which is 7-12 days earlier than last year. The overall production volume will be larger than last year.
