"China: "Qi County pears ready for Belgian market"

"The European production season of fresh pears is gradually entering its final stage. There is barely any supply left for Dutch and Belgian pear markets. This provides Qi County pears with an excellent opportunity. Our pears have recently entered the Dutch market and with three months of our supply season left we are hopeful that we can also enter the Belgian market." This is according to Wang Zeng of Wang Zeng International Ltd. (Qi Xian Hongyang Fruit Industry Co., Ltd.).

"Our pears are also known as Gong pears. The surface is cream-colored and bright. The fruit peel is thin. The fruit flesh is fragrant, sweet, and crisp. The pear is juicy and receives a warm welcome on domestic markets and abroad. Not only is this pear variety large and of good quality, but the appearance is great. Furthermore, production is stable and production volume is large. It is the most widely distributed late-season pear variety."

"The main advantage of this pear in comparison with other pear varieties is not just the unique flavor and crisp sweetness, but also its rich vitamin and mineral content. Furthermore, our pears are organic and have high nutritional and medicinal value. Our pears also have a relatively long supply season. Under regular weather conditions the production season of our pears begins every year in September and lasts until the end of August in the subsequent year."

"We successfully entered the English market several years ago, and we exported our first shipment of pears to The Netherlands on June 17th. We are confident that Dutch consumers will become familiar with our pears as our supply volume increases. There are still three months left in this supply season. We hope to expand our market to other European countries, in particular Belgium."
