15 years ago, the owner was already working at the Hannover Wholesale Market before moving to Spain, where he also worked in the fruit trade. Due to this long-standing experience in the field of fruit and vegetable wholesaling, the owner works exclusively with first-class importers from all over Europe. Spanish fruit specialties, however, are what characterize the sales stall. “We offer our customers a wide range of products including unique vine tomatoes, iceberg lettuce, zucchini and a variety of peppers, as well as drupes such as apricots and nectarines. Spanish onions are currently being marketed in large sacks as well,” says Begu.
Wooden crates
With a balanced and diverse product range, the trading company serves a mixed clientele of gastronomy suppliers, regional specialty stores and weekly marketers. It is no accident that the proud trader has another surprise on offer: fresh Charentais melons from Bouchée de Soleil from France. "I bought these magnificent melons from a supplier friend or mine and they are currently marketed in suitable wooden crates. Due to the short season, the fruits will be available for about three more weeks,” noted the specialist.
