Henan Wanbang market: The price of stored pears is falling

This month, the price of the pears in the Henan Wanbang market generally dropped. This month, the average price of pears is 3 RMB per kilo, that of last month was 3.2 RMB per klio, and that of last June was 3.5 RMB per kilo. The price fell month-on-month by 6.25% and year-on-year by 14.29%.

The main reasons for this are: firstly, high storage volume. Now the pears in the market mainly come from Hebei. Pears enter the market from July to September. After being picked up from the cultivation area, they will be immediately stored in the freezers. New pears are entering the market now and merchants worry that the old pears will be difficult to sell. Therefore, many stored pears have a very low price. Secondly, bad quality. After a year in storage many pears are spoiled with red peels and black cores. Thirdly, huge competitive pressure. More fruits are entering the market in the current season, such as lychees, watermelons and peaches, which all have a huge influence on the sales of pears.
