As a result of the recent opening of the US market for Colombian Hass avocados, more and more packers are entering this market successfully.
The latest company to enter it has been the Hass Diamond Company, which recently shipped its first 22 tons of avocados to the US. The shipment, which complies with the strict regulations of the American USDA health authority, will be arriving to the state of Florida in the coming weeks.
"The United States is the leading consumer of Hass avocados in the world. Our job is to start positioning the Colombian quality. We must take safe and constant steps to do this. We hope to have a higher volume in the coming years so that we can continuously supply this market. It's something we have been working on for the past two years with our farmers, ICA, and a large work team," stated Daniel Galviz, the Managing Director of the Hass Diamond Company.
The opening of the American market to Hass avocados from Colombia strengthens and promotes the production of this fruit in the country.
