China becomes one of their biggest markets

Pakistan opens new market for mango exports

Pakistan set an export target of 100 thousand tons for mangoes between April and June. In light of the devaluation of the Pakistan rupee compared to the US dollar, as well as the export during Ramadan, mango traders expect to have abundant income. This first mango export through the economic corridor between Pakistan and China has a volume between 500 and 2000 tons. The Chinese market developed overnight and could become one of the largest markets for Pakistan's mango export. The export volume could reach 20 thousand tons. By comparison, mango exports to Japan only reached a volume of 150 tons.

Pakistan has organized promotional activities for increased mango export in China, the Maldives, and European countries. Iran is also an important mango export destination for Pakistan, but exporters do not expect great returns from export to Iran, because the Iranian rial is devalued.
