The first German Annabelle potatoes of this year's harvest have already been marketed. On the Hamburg wholesale market, the fresh tubers from local cultivation were sold quickly on Thursday morning. At 3.30 am, the majority of the German Drillinge had already been marketed at the Kartoffel Hölie GmbH stall.

It may happen in the beginning of May, but that's more of an exception."
The wholesaler gets its goods from the Hannover area: these are the so-called Dedenhäuser Premium potatoes. The new harvest from the Lüneburg Heath, on the other hand, can take a little while longer. Until the official start of the new season, Hamburg-based wholesalers are offering local buyers products like the Italian Sieglinde, the Annabelle from Cyprus and the red-skinned Cherie from France.
