Late-maturing variety Maroc-late fills the market gap

Moroccan citrus exported to China

"The year before last year, in order to fully learn the demands of the Chinese market regarding Moroccan citrus, and to explore the possibility of doing business in China, we imported very small amounts of Moroccan citrus into China. The feedback from the market later helped us, and the Moroccan citrus factories, to gain a deeper understanding of the Chinese market. On the basis of this, and targeting the particular needs of the Chinese market, the factories have done all kinds of experiments about the varieties of citrus products to prepare for large-scale exports to China this year."

Moroccan citrus are sugary

"This is the first year that China has imported a large volume of Moroccan citrus. As the company with the largest import volume in this production season, our Moroccan citrus had been distributed to sell in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou after they arrived at the Shanghai harbor. From the current response of the market, the sales status is very satisfying, which benefits from the screening of the products. We mainly picked good-quality products at the premium level.

"Regarding the marketing positioning, based on the obvious advantages that Moroccan citrus have, we projected them for the mid- and high-level market. Our supply period will start from the end of the production season of Wo oranges and sugar oranges. The selling price of Moroccan citrus is far less than that of Australian imported citrus. In the same period of supply, Moroccan citrus has hardly any competitors. Although the Egyptian citrus are in the market, according to the market feedback, Moroccan citrus is better, with higher Brix levels, quality, QC and color.

Moroccan Citrus

"The export of citrus from February to April is mainly Moroccan late-maturing citrus. Currently, we are getting ready with the clients to deliver the late-maturing citrus - Maroc-late - and we have already started the relevant marketing promotion in Shanghai and Guangzhou. For Maroc-late, this is a fantastic chance because the time when it enters the market coincides exactly with a gap after the production season of Egyptian citrus ends and before that of the South African citrus starts. Besides targeting at the Chinese market, Moroccan citrus factories have made adjustments according to the degree of sweetness, fruit shape and the degree of maturity. I believe, the prospect of sales is very optimistic. "

Moroccan Citrus

"We at Walderveen have a direct cooperative factory of citrus in Morocco. As the authorized export merchant of Moroccan citrus to Asia-pacific areas, we helped them to sell citrus products to China. As an international import and export trading company based in Holland, according to the different needs of buyers and retailers, Walderveen constantly buys and sells fruits and vegetables that meet requirements of food safety and high quality from various cultivation areas all year around. The exclusive port logistics, the company's refrigerator car, a wide marketing network, the storage warehouse and many other facilities have allowed us to obtain any amount of product for the buyers and merchants at any time.
