Belgian King Filip visits Greenyard Frozen

This week, King Filip of Belgium visited the production site in Westrozebeke in response to the rollout of dual learning. As a vegetable processing company, Greenyard Frozen is dedicated to a good connection between schools and business, by means of various internship programmes, workshops and dual learning.

The King was introduced to various parts of the shop floor, and was given a tour of the production and packing department. During his visit, he met interns from secondary education, who are part of, among other things, the Food@Work Techno Awards, a competition organised by Fevia (the Belgian Food Industry Federation).

Of Greenyard Frozen Belgium’s 375 employees, 140 are specialist technicians. Anticipating the ageing workforce by hiring specialist technicians in advance is an essential and critical factor. Besides investing in machinery, it also remains important to invest in employees, particularly regarding the current tightening labour market.
