Rewe Group praises Italian suppliers

Euro Group-Rewe met up with its Italian suppliers during Macfrut's first day. "It's essential to plan everything down to the tiniest detail. It's what made it possible to increase our market share. In 2016, we insisted on improving our work and focusing on high-quality. We have grown a lot since then and I'm very happy with how things are going," explained CEO Annabella Donnarumma.

Jons Gabriel stressed that "there must be no anonymous product. 'Where' and 'how' must be a sort of ID, but Italian producers are very good when it comes to this. We reorganised everything a couple of years ago, we made logistics more efficient and clarified the various tasks and roles within the chain."

"We won't work with those who are still old-fashioned. We have a very precise plan when it comes to incoming quantities. Direct procurement means we can source healthy products with chemicals kept to a minimum."

"You're here with us because you can guarantee high-quality produce and are trustworthy. Some of you have been working with us for over twenty years. All the checks we carry out are to provide advice, not to check up on you. This way, we also managed to reduce objections for unsuitable batches, which are now below 1%," added Annabella Donnarumma.

Eugenio Guidoccio

Managers Eugenio Guidoccio and Ulrich Spieckermann praised the high level of cooperation between Rewe and Italian suppliers. "We'd like to thank you for our success."
