Ecoculture exporting its crop technology to Poland

The Almeria-based company Ecoculture Biosciences continues to grow strongly in the international markets, and after consolidating its growth in Latin America, with the prospect of being fully developed in Brazil within the next three to five years, now it is time to follow suit in Central Europe, exporting its Crop technology through its distributor in Poland, Bioagris.

A technical delegation of this Polish company travelled in recent days to Spain to visit farms in Almeria and Huelva. The objective was to check the implementation of the Ecoculture cultivation program in a number of plantations of these two provinces.

In Almeria, a delegation of Bioagris, headed by its president, Piotr Zajkowski, visited pepper, tomato and watermelon plantations. Acting as host, Ángel Ruiz Serna, manager of Ecoculture Biosciences, organised a tour of the facilities of the Tecnova Technology Centre, where the Almeria-based company is carrying out numerous tests as part of its strategy of investing strongly in R&D+i.

The visits in the province of Huelva focused on strawberry and blueberry plantations, of great importance for Poland, where Bioagris has successfully implemented the Ecoculture technology and has achieved notable improvements in the quality of the fruits in terms of firmness, post-harvest shelf-life and colour.

The last stage of the tour was a visit to the cooperative Cuna de Platero, one of the largest and most technified of the province of Huelva. Juan Carlos García, head of R&D of the company, accompanied the members of the Polish delegation in a tour of the handling facilities in full operation, as well as of other essential elements for the post-harvest.

All the plantations visited in Almeria and Huelva adhere to the Ecoculture Biosciences program, which features the NHDelta, XStress, CalFlux and Blush range, with notable improvements in both yield and crop quality and significant reductions in water and nitrate inputs.

The use of Ecoculture's products, together with the technification of the process and the ability to supply the most demanding markets, were some of the contents that aroused the most interest from the Polish delegation. Overall, the visit was highly rated and the delegation was pleased with the quality of the crops and the high technological level of the farms visited.
