Times Group takes over Penta Robotics

The Times Group has taken over all of the Dutch robot manufacturer, Penta Robotics', shares. This acquisition ensures the Times Group will quickly realise robotic solutions for their important processes and markets. With this, they expect to be better able to meet their clients' needs.

Penta Robotics has, with the Veloce, developed a distinctive, parallel robot. It is very suited to end-of-line solutions within logistical processes. "In the near future, it is going to become increasingly difficult to find suitable employees. This explains the logic of this takeover", says Arie van den Ende.

Penta Veloce

Penta Robotics was founded in 2012. They manufacture parallel robots, based on their own patents. These are particularly suited to the automation of logistical processes. The techniques were developed in collaboration with TU Delft, TU Twente and the University of Montpellier. Penta moved to Delft, where the roots of their techniques lay. For Penta, this acquisition means accelerated growth opportunities as well as shorter lines to the market.

The Times companies are active within the area of logistical service delivery for the fresh fruit and vegetable, and flower sector, as well as in warehousing. They are based in Rhoon. Robo Times, which is part of this group, focuses on the placement of robots.

Arie van den Ende, as well as Marco Streefkerk and Peter Streefkerk, have recently been appointed as directors of the Times Group. Their focus area is robotics. Within this focus area, Arie is responsible for Penta Robotics and Robo Times. Arie van den Ende is an experienced businessman. He is also the co-founder and former Managing Director of RoboValley. He has also been involved in more than 15 robotics start-ups, as the co-founder.
