Erwin van den Berg of Tolsma-Grisnich (storage, processing and packaging agrarian products) speaks of a successful mission. This company from Emmeloord has been active in China for over 25 years and has its own location there. "The visit was useful," says Van den Berg. "We spoke to existing customers and make a number of new agreements."
In the presence of minister-president Rutte, Tolsma-Grisnich signed a contract with a Chinese company for the supply of a fully automatic line for receiving, washing, sorting and packaging potatoes. The installation can process 30 tonnes of potatoes per hour.
According to Van den Berg China offers huge sales opportunities for Dutch companies that are active in the potato chain. "China is the largest potato producing country in the world by far. The Chinese government wants to raise the production considerably. With a trade mission like this Dutch companies are given the opportunity to put themselves in the spotlight. The presence of ministers is a positive influence."
