Chen Weiru, Chief Strategy Officer at Cainiao Network Technology, stated that fresh food products are only subjected to standardization when they arrive in the city. Cainiao and ExFresh established fresh food warehouses in 19 cities. In these warehouses the products are classified according to standards, sugar content, and sweetness. However, in between the production area and the city, there is no standard for fresh food product quality.
In the last stage of distribution, when the product reaches the consumer, there is still the possibility that the wrong product can be delivered or the product does not meet standards, and so the product is returned to the place of origin. This is harmful for the consumer experience and for the profit of a company. When the "Divine Farmer Project" is online, Cainiao will bring supply chain standards to the fields of fresh food production areas, and make the distribution of fresh food products run according to the standards of industrial products.
