Frost damages fruit and vegetable fields in Yozgat, Turkey

As the temperature fell to minus 2 degrees in Yozgat, a city in northern Turkey, the resulting frost damaged fruit and vegetable fields. Some growers tried to prevent this by burning hay in their fields to raise the temperature.

Another grower came up with a more creative solution. The grower purchased 3,000 plastic bottles for 125 USD and used these to protect every seed he had planted. As the seeds were not damaged by the frost, the grower is planning to use the same practice in the future and has recommend this practice to other growers.
