China: Ginger prices continue to fall

In recent years, farmers have continuously expanded the areas of ginger cultivation. Add to this the great progress in agricultural technologies and you'll see why the total output of ginger has increased significantly. Last year's ginger harvest season was short - only four months. The output was large, but the farmers had to sell it as soon as possible to compensate for planting costs and increase their incomes. It has ended up with a fall in prices because there was too much ginger on the market, in some places supply has exceeded demand.

Ginger is just a seasoning vegetable, it's not a necessary product. Ginger is convenient to store for a long time, so the consumers don't need to buy it every day. At this moment, the price of ginger is already pretty low and there is no chance it will decrease further. It is expected that the price of ginger will stay at the same level for a long time.
