Morilles to become accessible for the public-at-large

There have been more than 50 years of intensive research into the possibility of cultivating wild Morilles and now a university in the Chinese region of Chengdu has finally succeeded. The Dutch company, Green Mushroom Farm, maintains contacts with Europe. As such, they recently presented fresh Morilles to the European Market. This was done at Fruit Logistica in Berlin 2018.

Last week, the Green Mushroom Farm sent their ambassador, Kees de Jong, along on a trade mission to China. There, Kees succeeded in following up on the already-existing cooperation. This was done with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, led by Carola Schouten. "The goal: to find locations in 2018. These need to help in the coordination of production schedules. Then this highly valued culinary product can be made more widely available, in its fresh form, to the greater public", says Kees.
