Greenhouse grower expects strong year for organic growing

With a fresh growing season underway, John Ketler, the General Manager at NatureFresh™ Farms, along with the entire NatureFresh™ Farms team, is looking forward to what he says is projected to be an extremely successful year for organic produce. With an increased focus on growing using certified organic methods and processes, consumers should expect to see an increase in organically-grown NatureFresh™ Farms produce hitting grocery store shelves starting in April 2018.

NatureFresh™ Farms expanded its organic acreage in Leamington, ON from 9 acres to 15 acres at the end of 2017. As the 2018 growing season is kicking into high gear, the growers at NatureFresh™ Farms predict high yield and excellent quality fruit from their organic crops. Isaac Braun, the head Organic Grower at NatureFresh™ Farms, is excited to see the plants he oversees performing so well: “With a greater focus being given to our organic crops moving forward, we are expecting improved crop management that will result in better quality and more consistent production levels. We are all very excited to see how our plants do throughout the upcoming season."

According to the company, in this industry, the demand for more high-quality organic offerings has been growing steadily year after year. Having expanded to 15 acres of organically-grown produce this year alone, NatureFresh™ Farms said they are committed to providing consumers with the organic fresh produce that they seek out at their local grocery store. Paul Schockman, the NatureFresh™ Farms Sales Office Manager, noted the increased interest in organic offerings at the retail level, “Listening to consumers who shop in their stores, many of our retail partners have expressed great interest in bringing more organically-grown product into the retail space. With greater organic offerings now being grown at our farm, we are confident our team will meet this demand and give the consumer what they are looking for.”
