In the early morning of 16th April, another frost hit the large area of fruit cultivation in Jiaodong, Shandong province. Laizhou, Longkou, Zhaoyuan, Qixia, Penglai, Mouping, Haiyang and all other places have suffered from the frost to a different extent. Situations in the lower lands are even more severe. Some plants' stigmas even blackened, dropping if touched.
This year, it is not only expected to be a largely reduced production of apples, but the frost and rain will aggravate rust and mould core diseases. According to the weather report, there will be another rainfall on the 20th and 21st this month.
Some fruit growers have already abandoned the severely affected cultivation areas, this frost will possibly relieve the supply and demand conflict which would have caused low prices. This year, those fruit growers who have fruits or have good fruits will possibly earn much.
