China: Decline in veg prices

According to the Lixia District Price Bureau in Jinan prices for some vegetables have recently declined for the following reasons:

1. The development of vegetables has recently benefited from relatively high temperatures everywhere. The increased volume of vegetables entering the market has caused a situation where supply exceeds demand.

2. "Edible wild herbs are fragrant in springtime", which means that edible wild herbs enter the market in large volumes in March. Edible wild herbs are a substitute product and their availability influences the price of other vegetables.

It is estimated that the vegetable price will remain stable into the foreseeable future.
