Claris ten Napel joins Hagranop

"Meager Spanish organic carrots supply at the start of the season"

The supply of Spanish organic carrots in disappointing this year. "We are simply having a bad start to the season", says Mardi de Graaf of Hagranop in the Netherlands. "In the last four weeks, there was just too much rain, varying locally, in Spain, from 250 to 500 mm. We are seeing damage, especially in the Sevilla region in Southern Spain. Fortunately, our farms are spread out, so we can start with deliveries."

"Last week we could only harvest by hand. Mechanical harvesting is not yet possible. Supply is, therefore, very limited. It seems that in the coming week, the trade will get off to a difficult start. Italy is offering limited stock, and Israel is also reducing their availability. There are very few old, harvested carrots from Western Europe. Prices will remain stable, possibly even further increasing", expects Mardi.

Management
As per 1 April, Claris ten Napel will join Hagronop's management team as Sales Manager. In the coming year, the company wants to keep growing their activities in their organic sector in the area of regular trade. They want to do this in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, and Scandinavia and also in, primarily, Poland.
