Sanya is known as the home of Chinese mangoes. It is recognized in the industry as one of the best production areas for Guifei mangoes. It is our understanding that Hainan has already become a leader in the tropical fruit industry with the production of mango, lychee, dragon fruit, and durian. Hainan has an annual production volume that exceeds 4 million tons and supplies more than 180 cities in China and abroad. Hainan has established many nationally recognized regional brands.
Fufan mango plantation-trees are heavy with mangoes
The Sanya City government and iFresh Fair jointly organized the 2018 International Mango Conference and the simultaneous Tropical Fruit Exhibition at the Sanya Mangrove Forest Hotel. The conference began on March 20th, 2018, and was successfully concluded on March 23rd. Specialists from all over the world and traders from production and distribution channels gathered at this conference to boost the development of the tropical fruit industry. More than 10 specialists from China and abroad exchanged their views on mango brand models, the secrets of mango plantation, top-grade mango processing technology, accelerated ripening technology, new mango retail methods, and the standardization of post-harvest management.

More than 160 participants visited a local mango plantation on the last day of the conference and enjoyed the mango harvest activities. Fufan plantation is located in Shuanglian Farm, Yazhou, some 10 km outside the district center. There is a convenient main road that runs through the plantation. The plantation covers 267 hectares and has an annual production volume of 2 thousand tons, worth 20 million yuan [3.18 million USD].
