Moldovan producers exporting to Russia forced to report shipped volume in advance

In order to export products of plant origin to the Russian Federation, Moldovan producers will have to report in advance what volume they plan to ship to the Russian market in 2018. To this end, the Russian side informed the National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) of Moldova that Moldovan producers will have to fill in a document.

"We are counting on the cooperation on the part of fruit and vegetable producers and exporters and trust that they will supply reliable data to inspectors of ANSA territorial subdivisions. We shouldn't forget that supplying incorrect or incomplete data will cause difficulties in the export of plant products to the Russian Federation and will be the basis for the introduction of restrictions on the Russian side," said the ANSA in a press release.

It is worth recalling that the Russian Federation banned Moldovan imports in the summer of 2014, before the ratification of the Association Agreement between the republic and the EU. Subsequently, it resumed some imports, but during the past year, numerous batches of Moldovan plums were denied access by customs authorities.
