Dallas Fresh Food Association welcomes Tom Stenzel as guest speaker

In an effort to inspire thinking and encourage dialogue around the changes in fresh food culture and consumption, Stenzel will speak to the association about disruptors in the industry and how they affect everything from the supply chain, to legislation, to consumer preferences. With changes in D.C., labor shortages, and massive societal changes in how we view and procure food, his presentation comes at an opportune time for the newly established association.
“The term ‘fresh’ no longer pertains to only fresh produce, so we have to address the disruptors facing our traditional thinking around fresh food before we can truly address change,” said Tom Stenzel, President and CEO of United Fresh. “I’m thrilled to be speaking to such a passionate group of people and look forward to seeing what they do with this information as they go out into the Dallas/Fort Worth community and use it to increase consumption of fresh food.”
Stenzel’s passion for this topic stems from United Fresh’s recent partnership with the Smart Food Expo and Conference in June, which focuses on consumer trends that include better-for-you food options – everything from fresh produce, meat and dairy, and packaged snacks with natural ingredients – that speak directly to consumers’ needs and changing views on what “fresh” means.
“We’re honored to have Tom join us for our first official luncheon of 2018, especially as many of us prepare for the Viva Fresh Expo the following day,” said Michael Grinstead, treasurer for the Dallas Fresh Food Association. “We’re very much looking forward to learning from him and using the research he presents from United Fresh to support our efforts within the local community.
It’s not too late to get involved with this passionate group of change-makers. To attend the luncheon April 4 from 12-1:30pm, or for more information about the DFFA, please email dffa.membership@gmail.com. Members are not required to live within or have businesses in Dallas/Fort Worth but are expected to attend the bi-monthly meetings.
