In two weeks, The Vegetables Market Place (VMP) will be opening their own warehouse in the Dutch town of Poeldijk. "We will still be at the ABC-Westland industrial park in Poeldijk. We are just moving to Number 427. We will be at our new address from 3 April. Since we have grown considerably and are loading an increasing number of larger mixed orders for our clients, we were in need of a more suitable space. We have found a nice location", says Lennart Middelburg, Sales Manager at this Dutch import-export company.
The new location has 1 600 m2 of warehouse space. It also has four loading docks and three cooling cells where up to 500 pallets can be stored. "We do not expect to use the whole 500 pallet cooling cell space immediately. We are, therefore, also offering storage and transhipment space to third parties. We also want the new space to be certified (HACCP, BRC, IFS ) as soon as possible", says Lennart.
"Over the past few months, we have done a lot of import trade from Spain and Morocco. That season is, however, fast coming to an end. We are moving over more to Dutch products. This is because the products from the foreign countries are, partly due to the bad weather being experienced there, not of the best quality. It is, therefore, also good that the new warehouse is near completion. We can be in our new location for the start the Dutch season."
