Celebration of Primland Chile's 20th anniversary

On Thursday 1 March, PRIMLAND celebrated the 20th anniversary of Primland Chile. Thanks to this subsidiary, PRIMLAND can offer its customers involved in the distribution and importing of Oscar® kiwis all year round. This event brought together 140 guests in grand “Franco-Chilean” style (Institutional agents, Chilean producers, suppliers, French producers and collaborators).

The preparation for the next season of Chilean kiwifruit is underway with confidence. Primland, the leading French kiwifruit operator, became involved in the production of Chilean kiwifruit by creating the Primland Chile subsidiary. This strategy would offer Primland's customers a comprehensive offering throughout the year.

"The favourable climate of the Andean Cordillera and the Pacific Ocean, combined with naturally rich soils, makes it possible to harvest a quality kiwifruit. The Chilean Oscar kiwi is grown in the central part of Chile, in the valleys of Cachapoal, and the central valley between Curico and Linares," explains Jean-Baptiste Pinel, Managing Director of Primland. Primland Chile ensures an average production of 4,000 tonnes.

The Chilean Oscar kiwi enjoys the support of the Image of Chile Foundation and sports its logo on all crates.

The anniversary was an opportunity for French producers to meet their Chilean counterparts before the event. While touring the orchards, many exchanges allowed these professionals to share their visions (culture, harvest, technique, etc.). "It is important to discover the same quality research in all the group's organisations (from the orchard to the harvest, until the fruit ripens)."

During the evening, trophies were awarded (the famous “Oscars”) to reward the loyalty of those who played a central role in the development of the project in Chile. Since then, enthusiastic testimonies have flowed in.

The event has announced good prospects for this year and for the future.
