Germany: EDEKA Nord plans new fresh warehouse in Neumünster Nord

In Neumünster Nord, in the Eichhof business park, EDEKA Handelsgesellschaft Nord mbH plans to build a new fresh warehouse. The current warehouse and administrative center established in 1969 in the Gadeland business park no longer permits a demand-driven expansion.

In the Eichhof business park, conveniently located on the A7, a completely new fresh goods warehouse with a fruit and vegetable area as well as an empties warehouse is to be created. The greater assortment and expanded availability of fresh produce are key benefits for EDEKA retail. Today, around 170 employees are working in the fresh food and associated empties sector. This number will possibly rise to 200 at the new location.

In Gadelander Street, the old fresh service inventory areas will be added to the dry range. Today, the dry goods range in the Neumünster regional warehouse comprises around 6,000 items. In the future, these ranges can be expanded as needed.

With this measure, the company will align its logistics with the sales and commercial requirements of the future. EDEKA Nord works in conjunction with the independent retailers and regional directories, so that consumers of EDEKA Nord can always shop for fresh food of the highest quality.
