Organic berry acreage increasing significantly

While the acreage used for the cultivation of organic berries in 2010 was just under 30 hectares, it will be 124.1 hectares this year. This is shown by figures from the Swiss Fruit Association. The most important crop is the Aronia berry, followed by strawberries.

The supply is not yet enough to cover the big demand. The proportion of organic berries on the total acreage is 13 percent.
