Fresh Chilean plums have arrived at the Shanghai Huizhan wholesale market. Shu Hui is presenting the plums that are packed in 6kg boxes.

Chilean plums can only be exported for a set number of years. Compared to table grapes and cherries, the amount of plums imported is relatively limited, but it exceeds the volumes of kiwifruit and apples.

In the season of 2015-2016, fresh Chilean fruits exported to China included table grapes (129,112 tons), cherries (39,651 tons), plums (29,159 tons), kiwifruit (24,744 tons), red apples (14,773 tons), avocados (5,273 tons) and blueberries (3,765 tons).

Chile’s main competition comes from Australia.

Besides plum, Shu Hui also imports fruits from Egypt, South Africa, Chile, Peru, Spain, Morocco, the United States, New Zealand, Australia, Thailand, Vietnam, Italy and Mexico, etc.
