Italy: Melinda apple vinegar now available

Consorzio Melinda (an Italian apple specialist that collects apples from over 4,000 producers covering around 6,700 hectares in Val di Non and Val di Sole) and Acetum (a leading Aceto Balsamico di Modena IGP producer and one of the main apple vinegar producers with over 2 million litres a year) have announced their partnership to launch the Melinda Apple Vinegar on the market. 



"At around €17.7 million, apple vinegar is the third category in the vinegar market when it comes to value and is the one with the steepest growth trend: +12.2% for traditional and and +22.4% for organic vinegar. In this context, a vinegar specialist has paired up with a leading apple producer to create a unique apple vinegar range. Our premium vinegar is obtained from 100% fresh Melinda apple juice through a natural acidification process. This process means the characteristics of the Melinda raw material are maintained preserving its genuineness," explains Acetum commercial and marketing manager Marco Pellicani.

Melinda is always ready to tackle new challenges and find new solutions. This time too, the values of the Melinda brand - which include the high-quality of its apples, the importance of the Italian origin and a monitored production chain - are all found in the product. The consortium is becoming an apple vinegar specialist, supplying a safe and recognisable product to consumers.

"We believe our partnership with Acetum will bring the results we are hoping for. We have high expectations already for this first year. Working with other brands is a fundamental asset for our consortium and this agreement is a new way to promote both our apples destined to the processing industry and our brand," explains Melinda marketing manager Andrea Fedrizzi.

The range
The products available are: traditional apple vinegar, organic apple vinegar and apple vinegar glaze. A complete innovative range that, thanks to high-quality ingredients and good organoleptic properties, becomes ideal not only as a condiment for everyday dishes but also as a healthy product, which should be perfect, as Italian consumers become increasingly aware about their health.
