New squeezable fresh herb product adds flavor to any dish
Last year, Rock Garden introduced a package of fresh herbs and spices called Chef Shots. “Just recently, we modified the Chef Shots and changed the product into a one-shot squeezable pouch,” says Jeff Bruff with Rock Garden, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Coosemans Worldwide. “It’s a single-serve portion that leaves nothing behind,” continued Bruff. The product speaks to the demographic of consumers who want something that is quick, easy and adds flavor to any meal they choose to make. Chef Shots come in different flavor profiles, including basil/walnut, rosemary/garlic/sage, cilantro and herbs en provence.

Sweet spot
The serving size is 1.5 oz. “We’ve tested it out in our test kitchens and this seems to be the correct portion. It’s the sweet spot that adds the best flavor to any dish without having any left-over product,” Bruff mentioned. Chef Shots can be squeezed into pasta, on meat or into any veggie dish.
“Consumers are looking at products that make sense to them. They want it fast, healthy and without waste. I believe we have been successful in addressing that,” Bruff said. Rock Garden is working with retail partners on availability of the product within the next 90 - 120 days. Once available, Chef Shots can be found within the fresh herbs segment in the store.

Organic certification
“The product will initially be available as conventional, but we are moving towards a fully certified organic product,” said Bruff. Rock Garden currently supplies the retail and wholesale markets across the country with both conventional and certified organic fresh cut culinary herbs.
