Peru: Danper will double its avocado volume
As the avocado campaign is about to start, Danper plans to double the volumes of avocado it produces. This will allow the agroindustrial firm to meet the growing global demand for its product, said executive director, Jorge Aranguri.
The increase in stock will follow, not only to the maturation of some fields and the entry of others to the production stage, but also the incorporation of new suppliers in the north and south of the country, he said.
"We have entered the avocado business in the regions of Ayacucho and Arequipa," the executive said.
Jorge Aranguri said that, as they would have a bigger volume of avocado, they would boost the frozen line, as they did with mangoes in the season that has just ended.
He said the frozen presentations would allow them to reach three channels: supermarkets and specialty stores, hotels, and the industrial segment (food companies) in different countries. Danper's white asparagus season for the European market and mango campaign are coming to an end.
