Technical instructor Jiang Weijun of the Longmen ecoagricultural orchard at Sichuan Kang Yuan Agricultural Products Co., Ltd. recently stated that the 20 hectares of kiwi fruit in the ecoagricultural orchard are developing well. The majority of kiwi fruit trees will enter their productive period this year. It is estimated that they will produce between 100 and 120 tons of kiwi fruit. After production the high-quality fruit will be selected, packaged, and transported to Europe for retail.

The China-Europe Express Railway departs from Chengdu and passes through Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, and Poland. After about 20 days this railway delivers the products to markets in France and The Netherlands.

Jiang Weijun stated that, generally speaking, kiwi fruit sells locally for 20 yuan [3.16 USD] per kg, but after transport to Europe the price is more than double that.
