Six tons of exported Armenian vegetables seized and destroyed

At the Upper Lars customs checkpoint on the Georgian-Russian border, six tons of Armenian vegetables on their way to Russia were seized and later were destroyed at the Vladikavkaz municipal dump. Russia’s Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance says the cargo (eggplant, tomatoes, peppers) lacked
certification and shipping documents.

According to hetq.am, an employee of the Russian agency said that the undocumented vegetables were hidden in the truck behind boxes of apples that did have the required papers.
