China's first AI warehouse for cross-border e-commerce

The country's first AI warehouse for cross-border e-commerce is currently under construction in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area. The Beijing cross-border e-commerce tariff service for online purchases will start simultaneously. After construction is finished, Beijing consumers will be able purchase cross-border e-commerce products through platforms such as Kaola and JD. This development will hopefully reduce delivery time and cost prices even further.

The Number One AI Warehouse occupies a surface area of 10 thousand square meters. It includes a robotic area, an inspection area, a freight forwarding area, a selection and packaging area, a robotic-human exchange area, and a customs declaration area. All these areas come together in a unified plan. There is also a security installation without blind spots that oversees the entire area through clear video surveillance. In addition, there are areas for customs and national inspection with X-ray machines and relevant selection installations.

Privately patented robots are the highlight of the Number One AI Warehouse. Do not be fooled by the unimpressive, square appearance of these small robots. Every single one has a "large brain" that allows it to manage and operate the entire process from collecting goods to shelving them, through storage and selection, and again through inspection and delivery in an informed and intelligent fashion.

The Number One AI Warehouse can process more than 300 thousand products per day. Over 10 thousand robots are simultaneously employed in supervised operations. It is estimated that the robots can package 10 thousand units per day in a working day of 8 hours. This is four times more than manual labor can achieve in traditional warehouses.
