Total Chilean blueberry exports have surpassed estimated volumes
As you can see from the graph above and underneath, volumes are higher than export numbers of last season in both export to the United States and to Europe. According to the numbers mentioned in their weekly update, these are two markets that receive the biggest volume of the total blueberry export. “Up to date, the distribution of Chilean fresh blueberry exports is; 62.6% to North America, 24.4% to Europe and 12.8% to Asia.”
The Chilean Blueberry Committee explains that surpassing the initial estimated volume is because of the good conditions of both fruit development and harvest labors. “Both factors have allowed an increase in the share of fresh fruit for export in the Southern Regions, therefore the final export volume has been re-estimated at 106,000 tons, a new record of fresh blueberries exported from Chile.”
