Marketing company expands and positions for growth

Moxxy Marketing has hired sales and marketing expert and wine industry veteran Megan Murphy to the team in the newly created position of business coordinator, and has added 1,000 square feet of space to its office on the top floor at 380 Main Street in downtown Salinas, California.

"Moxxy now has the entire top floor in the charming, historic brick building on the southwest corner of Main and San Luis Streets," said Karen Nardozza, president and CEO of Moxxy. "The additional square footage provides 35 percent more space, which gives us immediate elbow room plus a little space for growth."

In response to increasing demand for its services, the company is also filling key positions through hiring and internal promotions. The creation of the business coordinator role to better capitalize on Murphy’s skill set is one example.

"Having worked in sales, marketing, design and administration for wineries and other small businesses up and down the California Central Coast, Megan has done a lot and is exceptionally capable in all she handles," said Nardozza. "We originally hired Megan as an entry-level account coordinator, and after just a few months, we created a new, specialized position for her—business coordinator. It’s a role we’ve needed assistance with for some time, and I’m thrilled to have Megan leading the charge."

Murphy tackles assignments that cover the spectrum from coordinating Moxxy’s business development program and spearheading the implementation of Moxxy’s own marketing to behind-the-scenes organizational and logistical tasks that keep Moxxy’s internal operations running smoothly. She also provides administrative support to Nardozza and handles management of Moxxy hospitality, events and team functions.

"I feel fortunate to be working with such a skilled and experienced group of marketing pros at Moxxy," said Murphy. "The outstanding work and excellent results we produce for clients makes my business development responsibilities that much easier. And, I couldn’t ask for a nicer bunch of people to spend my working hours with."

In preparation for her career in marketing, Murphy earned a business administration and marketing degree from Cal Poly. Prior to joining Moxxy she held positions as sales and marketing manager for Irie Wine, which she started with husband and winemaker Justin Murphy, wine club and website manager for Calcareous Vineyards, direct sales manager for Paraiso Vineyards, and assistant tasting room manager for Dover Canyon.

"When we realized the business coordinator role was essential to our ongoing success, the epiphany of discovering we already had the perfect person on staff was exciting for me and everyone on the team," added Nardozza. "Moxxy has always done a fantastic job applying our creativity and top-notch service for the benefit of our clients, and now we are receiving that same wonderful service as well—we are finally a Moxxy client too!"
