The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare announced on February 8th, 2018, that they had abolished strict inspections and controls of fludioxonil fungicides in Chinese fresh ginger.

The inspection and control of food products was based on the 2017 annual plan for inspection and control of imported food products, and announcement 0331.2 on food safety that came out on March 31st, 2017 (it was later amended in announcement 0201.3 on fresh food that came out on February 1st, 2018).
