New harvest of Chinese ginger floods empty European market

The new harvest of Chinese ginger has entered the market again. Importers note that the first shipment is of lesser quality as usual. The market is empty and the Chinese are sending ginger to their heart's content, even though it is often too damp or the peel is still too young, which means some containers, here and there, have to be repackaged and dried.

However, a high quality is expected for the coming period and after this month everyone will have dry ginger. The shipment of the ginger started slightly later than in previous years and the Chinese are doing everything they can not to fall too far behind in the volumes. There is more than enough demand for ginger in this period, although some importers are wary of the months ahead. An early spring sun could reduce the demand suddenly, in this sense ginger is the opposite of melons.
