The first shipment of Navel oranges from Luzhou in Sichuan passed the inspection of the Office for Quality Supervision, Inspection, and Quarantine. The shipment weighed about 1,000 kg with a value of 44.6 thousand yuan [7.03 thousand USD]. It passed through Shuangliu airport in Chengdu and began its journey to Canada.

The oranges from Luzhou are Newhall Navel oranges. They are produced in the Sweet Orange demonstration orchard of Mati village in Gulin county, Luzhou. This is the third time that characteristic fruit from Luzhou has been exported. After Luzhou longans and Hejiang Village Real Dragon pomelo, the Navel oranges are the third consignment of Luzhou fruit to enter the international market. This is also the first fruit export from Luzhou to Canada this year.
