MSP chooses Symach palletiser lines in new factory

MSP Onions has started building a sorting and packing hall, according to the principle of Industry 4.0. During the Fruit Logistica, the onion processor and exporter announced they had chosen palletiser solutions from Symach for the new factory.

“Lately, we’ve had many talks with Onion Tech Alliance (OTA) in order to build the factory of the future. Every time, the importance of Eqontrol, the software layer that allows all machines in the factory to communicate intelligently with each other, became apparent. Although Symach is affiliated with OTA, we’ve talked about our wishes with various suppliers. After all, you’re looking for the best machines per part. However, based on their extensive experience, and a high degree of efficiency in their large projects, good references and the integration of Eqontrol, Symtach was the best option by far,” says Lindert Moerdijk of MSP Onions.

High capacity
“An additional advantage is that we have much experience from other industries. This industrial approach seamlessly fitted with MSP’s ideas for the new factory, with complete traceability of their products and far-reaching automation on the shop floor,” says John de Bat of Symach. “We can guarantee high capacity for both large and small packaging. Because of our experience, we have a good idea of the integration in this gigantic OTA project. The desired possibilities with Eqontrol will be the biggest challenge for this project.”

Symach will deliver four complete lines to MSP, with a small palletiser per line. The installation is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2018. “From the ERP-system, data such as barcodes and other pallet information can be printed on the label. We want to be able to palletise very flexibly to respond to customers’ demand. Thanks to Eqontrol, a simple click will be enough to set up an entire production line. That’s why we’ve chosen this future-proof technique,” Lindert concludes. “And we would like to share this knowledge. In due course, the factory will also functions as a showroom for OTA and Symach.”
