Spain: Alicante farmers relieved from drought conditions

The rains that have been falling over the past week around Alicante, have eased the worries of farmers, after having have suffered drought conditions that severely affected their crops. Itís also a financial boon as they have had to pay in order to irrigate their fields.

According to an article on www.rtnnewspaper.com, a combination of the rains at the end of January and the beginning of February has eased the water shortages and made a significant contribution to the reservoirs in the Alicante province. Furthermore, the low temperatures favour the flowering of fruit and almond trees.
