Tomatoes, peppers and tropical fruit - Zambia aims at becoming self-sufficient when it comes to fresh produce, though there is a long way to go. To reach this objective, technology and knowledge are needed and Italian companies could be the perfect interlocutor. This is why Macfrut President Renzo Piraccini and Cermac President Enrico Turoni have gone on the Macfrut mission accompanied by Italian ambassador Filippo Sammacca Del Murgo.
Zambia Women in Agriculture Cooperative Society
Africa represents an excellent opportunity when it comes to selling technology and services. "Zambia is taking a lot of steps forwards and we are surprised by the enthusiasm of operators. Last year, a delegation of 15 Zambian and one Malawian companies visited our fair and more will attend the fair in 2018," explains Piraccini.

The Zambia Women in Agriculture Cooperative Society was also set up. It gathers women who decided to form a cooperative during Macfrut 2017. In addition, a national Zambia stand will be set up at Macfrut 2018.
Macfrut was presented at the Ambassador's residence. Piraccini thanked him for the help provided to sector operators. The fair was also presented at the Zambian Farmers Union and during a press conference attended by the Minister for Agriculture Dora Siliya.
