According to data from the China Agriculture Wholesale Market Association, the ten best selling fruits of 2017 were watermelons, apples, grapes, oranges, bananas, kiwis, pears, peaches, pineapples and mangoes. The five with the fastest growing sales were watermelons, kiwis, dragon fruits, mangoes and hami melons. These fruits are selling incredibly fast in the whole of China. This is mainly because of an increase in production.
The main reason for watermelons ranking first is that the Hainan and Yunnan watermelon production dropped at the end of 2016 and beginning of 2017 because of the weather. This has led to a high watermelon price in the second half of 2017.
