On 9 January, Walmart joined with the leading Chinese fruit trader Joy Wing Mau and the Chilean Cherry Association, and held a launch ceremony for the 2018 Chilean cherry season at its store in the Kunming World Trade Center. Walmart is leading in the retail market because of its safe, fresh, affordable and high quality imported fruit.
By using its vast international resources and supply chain network, the Chilean cherries that Walmart is offering in its stores all over China are carefully selected from high quality production regions. It has joined hands with Joy Wing Mau, and the two are working closely together with local suppliers, so that the high quality Chilean cherries are transported directly from the fields to the refrigerated storages in China. The highly efficient cold chain distribution system of Walmart also guarantees that consumers will find fresh, high quality cherries in the store.
Simultaneously, this year, Walmart has become one of the fastest growers on the Jingdong Delivery platform. Until November 2017, the two collaborated in 148 stores in 20 twenty cities. This season's Chilean cherries will also be sold on Jingdong Delivery.
